SPIDERMAN - BRAND NEW DAY - WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD NOT WATCH SPIDERMAN

Growing up in the 70s and 80s I was literally glued to the TV, watching either Spiderman, Superman or Wonder Woman in those days among many other forms of entertainment. I grew up in multiple home environments with my Dads different girlfriends, babysitters, or different step moms, or even at other peoples homes that I would never let my 5 to 6 year old child stay. But this was the brokenness of the world I was brought into. It was an interesting thing, that my Dad being an atheist, a sinner like us all, would make a narcissistic controlling things like I was not to watch movies, because they showed children to be disobedient, rude or with bad manners. But on the other hand I could watch things like James Bond, Benny HIll among others, I would however get to watch all types of movies at other peoples homes and therefore it was not doing what he had thought.

Eventually my life pursuit of the fleshly desires led me to hollywood itself. Here I worked my way up to top roles, playing roles in such Marvel TV series and comic films. I was on a high of my great success, my pride was on full display. Not only did I enjoy watching marvel or DC movies, I was in them as character. But outside of this my life was like a car to close to the mountain cliff, and one curve ahead was true doom. But without me knowing why and what was to come, I was just on my way to have an audition of a "lifetime" that would have leveled up my acting career. Without reason, my sexual desires were used to lead me elsewhere. I literally made a complete left turn leaving Los Angeles to end up in the UK. I truly do not like gray clouds, rain, or the cold. So my own sinful mind made up, that it was for the pursuit of theatre which I was doing. and convincing myself it was for the true art and not for the fame. Once again things changed even more dramatically in this time as Covid hit and lockdowns took place etc. I was now out of acting completely, and this was another part of the journey into true freedom. God used all the above to make me of use for His Glory. Not for me, but for His own glory my past history of abuse, pride and more gave me a conscience that God would use for HIs providence.

If you are a believer, then this bit is for you. I will say what I will say because I love you, and the truth will set us free and it must be said. A course correction must be taken once convicted. You can tell yourself that "I am" on a different path, a different sanctification than someone like myself, that's as if God wants you walking in some sort of sinful bliss or ignorance, or perhaps you chose to endorse the world? We can read God's word for all the answers, if you're missing the point(s) that I am making here, perhaps you are not in the word, where God truly lives wihin His living word. We must as Christians, and I am talking about born again believers as in John 3:3, and if you're not born again then you are not a true follower of Christ. But if you are, then you are to die to yourself and carry your cross... that's a suffering statement of saying no to your worldly fleshly wants. These desires can be many, this one may seem of little importance and perhaps it is because of who you sit under at church, not informing you of this distaterous road you are on. There are Youtube channels claiming to be Christian and yet they endorse and conform to the world. Do not be like them, for they are wolves in sheeps clothing.

The movie Spiderman has blasphemy, this alone should make you run from it, many deceptions and falsities along with major blasphemy of the Holy God and the Saviour Jesus Christ plus foul language. As a person claiming to be a follower of Christ Jesus, not a "believer" but a follower, you should abstain from foul and crude language, that includes voluntarily putting it into your ears, mind and therefore causing it to be a part of your daily intake. Where does it say this in the word of God, many places;

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. - Ephesians 4:29-32

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: - Colossians 3:8-10

4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. - Ephesians 5:4-5

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. - James 3:10-12

This means, not only that you should refrain from using it, but not allowing it to be apart of your life as a new man, if your born again you are a new person. Let us see the actual stats to this movie Spiderman "Brand New Day", what you as a Christian are allowing into your walk if you watch movies and why christians should not watch spiderman.........

Language and Content Breakdown

• Profanity Count: Around 40 total instances of coarse or mild crude language.

• Blasphemy/Deities: Rare uses of terms of deity and a blasphemous invocation of Jesus' name.

• Source of Language: Primarily driven by The Punisher’s gritty dialogue compared to past MCU entries.

• MPAA Rating Basis: Rated PG-13 for sequences of action, violence, and some language.

Listen Christian, the above should shake you, some of you to repentance and for those that are not truly saved, praying you understand the magnitude of where you are. Now I am moving onto other sinful factors of this film:

Kissing and Romance

• The Main Kiss: Peter Parker and MJ share a prominent, emotional lip-lock sequence.

• Other Couples: Someone witnesses their ex kissing a new partner, and a random couple is briefly shown kissing in the background on a train.

• International Censorship: The kissing scenes were deemed notable enough that the Central Board of Film Certification in India completely cut an 8-second kissing sequence from the theatrical release. ( This is in India, not even Christianity)

Suggestive and Awkward Situations

• The Bathhouse/Pool Scene: Peter meets the character Yelena at an indoor pool. She is visible only from the shoulders up (implied nude or partially nude) and commands Peter to "take off your clothes" so she can ensure he is unarmed. Peter strips down to his boxer briefs to join her. The scene is played purely for awkward comedy rather than sexual tension.

• Partial Nudity: There are several scenes of a shirtless Tom Holland wearing only boxer briefs.

• Crude Dialogue & Innuendo: A character asks Spider-Man if he has seen the "super graphic artwork" fans draw of him online (specifically mentioning a fake scenario involving him and "ten Mysterios") while making a brief, imitative sexual hand gesture. Spider-Man quickly cuts her off to say he is trying to "unsee it".

Even in this informative image above, the world considers all this "MILD" in ratings, so long as parents go with their children "PG13" then the sinfulness has won. I will do another blog topic. about how Hollywood got around blasphemy, sex and overall sinful tolerance into movies. So Christian, are you going to renew your mind, are you going to deny yourself and carry your cross as Christ did for you. We can all fall, but if we live in the knowledge of our sin, then I think you better have a self check of whether you truly are born again.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." - John 3:3

I truly write this out of conviction, not of my own desires but of those of our Fathers for He has written all that we are to follow, so follow Christ... suffer with Christ here and await eternal life with treasure beyond your knowing, that await those whom walk the narrow path and to one day hear....
