The blame game & it's origins

Welcome back to The Christiano or perhaps you got here by The Christian in Progress. No matter how you might have found your way back or perhaps it's your first time, welcome. The topic of this blog is The Blame Game, this will resonate with all of us, or at least it should whether you are the one pointing the finger or you have done so in the past... we are all culpable in this sin. It truly has become a fabric of our society especially in the last 20 years, not saying it wasn't there before, but it is being affirmed in this "victim mentality" that has plagued or society to a point, that a murderer can be a victim, or a child rapist a victim or just your skin tone a victim, all by way of the marxist/socialist ideologies which ultimately is at war with God the Almighty, and for this reason it will ultimately fail.

Where and when did this blame game start or come from? Is it in us from birth, or is a social construct, or is it even deeper yet than that. Well in this blog we are going to dive into this very important topic, one that I pray will help you to turn from this sinful desire. We all find ourselves at one point or another pointing the finger, whether as a child or as an adult. It sure doesn't help that society has left the Christian basis of education, where one is told that we are to take responsibility for our actions, even the Bible tells us this;

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load. - Galatians 6:2-5

To be honest it goes even further in this passage to saying we should bear one another's burdens, that's not a group of words people use or want to hear these days. In all truth it is counter cultural to be humble, to serve, to sacrifice one's own desires for another. We see this in modern day "marriage", where a man and a woman get married I guess because they feel that's what you do, then based off the normative social secular construct they have predetermined, that they can not have children. Why is this, well they'll say many reasons, we cannot afford it, how can we enjoy our lives. In truth it is solely about one's own self love.

So why are we in the game of blaming one another. We have all seen this personally as children, as adults at work or criminals but in the end we are all criminals of this sin in God's eyes. When the Lord God made the earth, the heavens and all that is in them, at the end of doing so on day 6, said not that it is good, but that it is very good. So all was without sin, therefore meaning that death had not entered the world. I mention this, so to say that evolution in the darwinism sense, is impossible to add to this beginning. So what happened, yes almost all know a version of this history. But, is it the correct one you have heard or have been taught. What was Adam told by God in Genesis 2:15-17

15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

So as we see above, the MAN was told what he could and could not do. So God saw man and with compassion, said that man should not be alone, the LORD then made from the dirt animals of every kind, and being a God that wanted man to have fellowship with HIm asked the man to name all the creatures as per below in Genesis 2:18-20

18 Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” 19 Now out of the ground the LORD God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him.

So know we see another love for HIs creation by seeing how He allows HIs creature "man" to name these other creatures that he did not make himself... wow. So let's step back out of the detailed account of Chapter 2 into Chapter 1 where the LORD says what about man? That's correct, "Then God said" in Genesis 1:26-27

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

So now that we see "they" made man in their image, you know what that means or you may ask to find out. Where am I going with this, I am just building up to the blame game cause, but let's see where we are in brief:

The lead up to the blame game.

  • All is very good

  • Man was made

  • God entrusted man to name all the creatures

  • God saw man was alone

  • They made man in Their image

Moving along to God makes a helper suited perfectly for man, one he could love and not be alone. We have an originally designed covenant to crush loneliness, but it all relies on God's design, not mans. Again the secular world view destroys this, leaving many without hope and purpose. So the LORD makes a helper for man in Genesis 2:21-22

21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.

This is wonderful news for the creature called man, he now has a helper made by the Master, the Creator. So what did man say about this, was he pleased.. oh I believe he was as we see in the below from Genesis 2:23

23 Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Now we have a pair, a perfect pair designed to have the gift of procreation of their own, a blessing by God to allow us to have our own children as we are to God His children. At this time we see that marriage was created, and they would be one flesh, leaving their parents to become a new family. Genesis 2:24

So all up till this point, all was still very good, no death from sin has entered the world. We can also know that all were herbivores prior to what is to come. So we can assume that man and woman would have enjoyed the wonders of God's creation together at this point. They both knew the rules, the law that they should not eat of the fruit of the one tree. But let's go into this a bit deeper, did God tell man and woman together or did God tell man directly and then man relayed this command onto woman, or did man leave this out. Well this is why the instruction book, the word of God is so necessary, lets see what this tells us. So reading again in Chapter 2 of Genesis we can see in verse 17;

17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Now we know that God told, no He commanded man not to eat of the fruit of this one tree. All other things were for man and woman to enjoy. But did the woman actually know that she was not to eat of this fruit? Or did only the man know this command, let us see as the serpent reiterates "Did God actually say.." Genesis 3:1

3 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made.
He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”

But remember as the serpent led by the devil was causing deception by calling into question whether the woman had known or actually heard this or that it was just a stern warning because God wanted it to Himself.... she being the weaker of the vessels in knowledge of this, was made the target to the scheme of deceit. Why a weaker vessel, the man was privy to seeing God create all the animals that he got to name, the woman was made after all was made and therefore in sense, more gullible to the deception. But again did woman know she shouldn't eat of it... what does Genesis 3:2-3 say

2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

Now we know, woman knew of this commandment, and that it was directly from God, she knew very well the command and the consequence of breaking this command. But nonetheless the woman was pushed once more by the serpent to deceive, as to why it was commanded of her not to eat it. So what happened after that? Genesis 3:6

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

Now we see woman took of the tree and bit into the fruit and it was good and did man attempt to correct her or say hey wait a minute... my Father, my God and my Creator commanded me not to eat this... so did man lead in this correction. No he did not, obviously as we read in Genesis 3, the man listened to this whole deception and did not tell the serpent, that God said no. In fact the man was standing right next to the woman as she ate it, then she passed it to him, did he contemplate.. no, and he ate of it as well.

So that brings us to the title of the blog, The Blame Game. Well now they have their eyes opened and they both realize their shame in nakedness, for once it was of no thought to be naked, but know they have a different knowledge of good and evil. So what happens here prior to the consequence of this sin, before the fall is set for the world. We have the man and the woman in the garden, naked and now they have covered themselves with fig leaves. Genesis 3:9-11

9 But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” 11 He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”

So the LORD called out to them, not as if the LORD didn't know, but like you do to your children when they have done wrong.. you ask them what have you done? Why are you hiding? So man is asked "Where are you?" So man explains why they are hiding and the LORD already knowing asks "Who told you that you are naked?" and then it begins....

The Blame Game

  1. God asks: "Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?"

  2. The man said, "The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree"and I ate" ---- so man blames God and woman (Yikes)

  3. Then the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this that you have done?"

  4. The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate"

So as you can see, man was told by God what he should and shouldn't eat or touch, was not to much to ask for and not to much for man to stay away from... but this shows our contempt our nature, from the beginning we are rebellious and we are by nature, by way of our family tree blamers of others and at a heavy costs blame others for violent to petty things so that we look better, to escape accountability... but in the eyes of a Holy God we are convicts on death row, for we have been sinners since birth by way of the parents who were sinners before us, we lie, we steal, we cheat and we do so much more. You may think no one knows what you have done, but God sees you and me and He knows, and our sins are building up and up and up, and each of these sins will be judged... not as a package but individually. This offense against God is much greater than you may believe. You are accumulating your wages, but your wages of sin will be dealt with as death, the soul will be cast into an eternity of torment. I heard this below:

A person in hell right now would give anything, do anything just to have one of their sins removed.

So my plea to those that are in this rebellion against God, perhaps you're an atheist, or you call yourself even a Christian, but let me tell you what God says...

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

But one must believe in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for us upon that cross, for He was ransomed by His Father to release His very enemies from their bondage... what greater gift can one give than themselves for their enemies... and if we love the world and strive to appease man, we are of the world, and if we are of the world then we are at enmity with God. There is nothing new about what one must do, for throughout the Old Testament we see the same thing, one must repent and turn from their wicked ways and call out to God in true repentance as below says, He will hear you if it is in true seeking and denial of self.

2 Chronicles 7:14 "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

We must repent, turning from the old person and denying ourselves.. denying our desires and to make our desires those of His, to carry our cross daily and seek not the seen, but the unseen which is eternal reward. The Bible is clear in John 3 that one MUST be born again in Spirit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.. it is not an option, but this means complete surrender and submission to His Majesty the God of all things, our Creator and a God that has done everything in order for you to obtain true joy, riches and everlasting life.

This life isn't about what you can have, that's a lie and we see in todays society of its destruction. Without the Word of God and following Christ... you will be anxious, worried, in need of drugs, man's attempt of therapy, and none of this works.

So I say again, turn to Christ... cry out for His help, His mercy and His forgiveness and He will set you free.

John 8: 31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

I pray this for all in the world, the world leaders, and every soul that is lost in this world.
